About XMLPilot
XMLPilot is a browser-based developer toolkit for working with XML. It provides fast, client-side formatting, validation, minification, XPath exploration, and streaming utilities designed to handle both small and large XML files in the browser.
Who it is for
XMLPilot is aimed at software developers, QA engineers, data engineers, integrators, and anyone who needs to inspect, clean up, or debug XML. It is optimized for developers who prefer tools that run locally in their browser and integrate with development workflows.
Why it was created
The tool was created to give developers a lightweight, privacy-first way to format and validate XML without uploading data to third-party servers. It focuses on speed, reliability, and predictable behavior for common XML developer tasks.
Privacy-first philosophy
By default, XMLPilot processes XML entirely in the user's browser and does not transmit XML document contents to external servers for the core features (format, validate, minify, XPath). This minimizes the risk of data exposure. See Privacy Policy for details and verification steps.
Developer-first philosophy
XMLPilot is built for developers: it uses the Monaco editor for a rich editing experience, a Web Worker and streaming SAX parser for low-memory handling of large documents, and precise offset-based XPath matches to integrate with editor highlights and navigation.
